Earthwork takeoffs

Cut and fill quantities measured from a flown existing-ground surface, compared against your design, delivered in the format your estimating software already reads.

Send the plan set and the bid date. We fly the site, build an existing-ground surface tied to control, compare it to the design surface from your plans, and send back quantities you can drop straight into the bid — typically 72 hours after the flight.

What you get

§ Deliverables
Existing-ground surface
Tied to control we set, or to control you provide
Cut/fill quantity report
PDF and XLSX, broken out by area so you can price phases separately
Cut/fill heat map
PDF and GeoTIFF — shows the estimator where the dirt actually is
Held-back checkpoints
Accuracy verified against points not used to build the surface

What we need from you

§ Inputs
  • 01The plan set — PDF is fine, DWG is better
  • 02The bid due date, so the flight gets scheduled against it
  • 03Site limits, or the parcel and cross streets
  • 04Any site control the project surveyor has already set
  • 05Access notes: gate codes, escorts, active traffic control
Missing something on that list? Send what you have. We flag gaps during plan review, before quoting — not two days into the job.

How it runs

§ Process
  1. 01

    Plan set review

We read the sheets and flag anything missing before quoting, not after.

  2. 02

    Flight + ground control

Control set and checked, flight flown at 0.0 in/px, checkpoints held back.

  3. 03

    Surface + comparison

Existing ground built and differenced against the design surface from your plans.

  4. 04

    Delivery

Quantities, heat map and surface in your portal, written for your software.

Questions we get

§ FAQ
How fast can I get quantities back?
72 hours from the flight. Rush is quoted per job rather than at a published premium. The quote states the date for your specific site.
What if the site has heavy vegetation?
Photogrammetry cannot see ground it cannot photograph. On brushy sites we tell you that up front, and on closed canopy we tell you the site needs conventional ground methods rather than quoting you something that will not hold.
Can you match my existing control?
Yes. Send the control sheet and we tie the surface to it at no charge, including plan or site coordinates rather than a published system.
Is this a survey?
No. This is aerial mapping for quantities and planning. Boundary, easements and plats require a Texas-licensed professional land surveyor.
